How do scissors work? A scissor is designed to split paper and the blades on the scissor help by cutting straight so the paper doesn't rip straight off.
Scissors are usually used for cutting something out and for art. Adults and kids both use this for similar reasons. Scissors are designed from different parts, most of the scissors are made out of steel, specifically carbon steel, while others are made out of stainless steel. Usually scissors are coated with nickel or chromium to prevent rusting.
Scissors work by two blades that are sharp like a sharpened knife. The blades are set up so when you squeeze the handles the pointy blades meet each other and cross very slow Scissors are useful because if we didn't have scissors we wouldn't be able to cut and it would be a mess

A scenario to use a pencil sharpener is when your drawing and your pencil snaps because you accidentally pressed it too hard but... You have a pencil sharpener so you can sharpen your pencil. Other scenarios are when the tip of your pencil goes blunt or you need to make sure your pencil is extra sharp so it doesn’t crack in a test.

There are different parts of a pencil sharpener the housing, mouth, blade and cylindric gears. The housing is the base of the sharpener it’s the part that holds all the pieces together so it doesn’t fall apart, the mouth is the hole in the sharpener which is used to insert the pencil so it’s ready to be sharpened. Next is the blade it is the part where the pencil is going to be sharpened this part is very important because without this part the pencil won’t be sharp and the final part of the pencil sharpener is the cylindric gears when the pencil is getting sharpened by the blade the cylindric gears make the pencil turn around in a cylindric shape so it doesn’t sharpen only once side making a pointy tip.
Who knew such a small contraption, the pencil sharpener, could be so complicated when you look into it with detail. The calm soothing beginning tells me that my team is on the right track. We are very strong and intelligent. As the music continues and the tempo goes faster I can tell that we are confused. I feel that we had made a wrong decision on the way and were thinking about what to do. We go on with the war anyway and end up losing badly. The entire team was stuck and were trying to get out. Once we get out it will be a guaranteed win because we discussed the plan. So how do we get out?

The start of the music was loud and sounded like the army marching towards the tower. When the army lined up the King and Queen came through the gate towards the castle.
There were lots of trumpets, drums and violins and made it sound dramatic like something special was going to happen.
Then the music changed and sounded low, like there was someone trying to sneak into the castle. The secret agent for the bad guys followed the King and Queen. The king turned around and started to chase the secret agent the music sped up and when the King caught him he put him in the deep dark dungeon.
After the King caught the secret agent he felt dizzy and tired and fell in a daze, the music was slow and woke up in darkness.

Friends or Family
Friends or Family

Both friends and family are important to me but if I have to choose one I will choose family because family is the most important thing in the world. My family, especially my mum and dad has been with me ever since I was born. They fed me, took care of me and protected me. Family is important to me because they love me even though I’m naughty.
They bought me a trampoline on my 10th birthday. My grandma bought me my favourite chocolate and she bought me two of it. I ate it straight away because I was hungry. My aunt bought me an RC car. My family bought me lots of presents and spoilt me on my birthday. They made me feel happy and special.
Family is important because they will always be there for you. Family will support you, help you and encourage you when you are feeling down or scared.
Friends can also do this but sometimes friends just come and go. Unlike your family they will be with you forever. You can choose your friends but you can’t choose your family. You and your family share the same blood and that is something very special. It makes you connected forever. My friends are special to me but I love my family more than anything in the world.
As my conclusion. I have chosen family over friends because your family was always there for you since you were born and until today and until I grow up.

I wake up, as the cold breeze hits my face. It's 6:00 in the morning and I get ready for another day, hiking in the miserable snow. I walk towards my coat hanger and walk out the front door with all my gear on. I can see my classmates hauling their bags to school. We hike and hike until the slope comes… we all grab our sleds and zoom down the hill ending up right in front of the teachers...

The mighty beast’s roar ferociously as the trees sway to the gentle breeze. There are all kinds of dinosaurs from the largest to the smallest ancient treasures of the world.
The lovely crystal clear lake runs through their world we're all the dinosaurs come to take a drink and rehydrate. You can even see that some dinosaurs are taking a small bath to wash off all the mud that they've been rolling in.
There are a couple of mountains at the back of their land that tower over all of them blocking out the sunlight that the earth needs to grow bushes, But there is enough sunlight to grow some bushes for them to eat off.
The ginormous Beasts have to fend for themselves and find food to survive. These dinosaurs range from Velociraptors to the Brontosaurus.

Baking Basic Brownies and Chewy Chocolate Cookies
How to bake a basic brownie

- How to make a basic brownie. First, you have to clean your hands thoroughly.
- Next, you are going to get all the ingredients out which are: Butter, Dutch cocoa or cocoa, 5 eggs, Caster sugar, Vanilla extract, plain flour, 70% dark chocolate and icing sugar.
- Now you have to get all the appliances you need e.g: 3 bowls, a mixer ( if you have one) or a spoon, baking tin, baking paper, baking spray.
- Once all has been prepared you will now begin the baking. First, you have to preheat the oven to exactly 170 degrees Celcius.
- Next, put 220 grams of butter in a suitable bowl and microwave it in chunks of 10-20 seconds, until completely melted.
- When this has been accomplished you will convert this liquid into your standard mixer bowl or keep in the same bowl.
- You will also add to the mixer bowl 60 grams of the dutch cocoa and stir these together by hand using a spatula until they’ve just formed together.
- Then start whisking on high speed in the mixer or get help by another person to stir for you while you do the next step.
- Soon after, you will add 5 eggs into another bowl this will allow you to slop them into the mixer while it’s running or to put them in while someone else is mixing.
- Now add the eggs from your bowl into the mixer one by one letting them whip and blend after each inclusion.
- When all eggs have been plopped in, keep whipping for a least another 5 minutes. The mixture should double in size.
- Stop the mixer or stop mixing and then add 400 grams of caster sugar and ½ a teaspoon of vanilla extract and once again stir for another 5 mins.
- Now you’re going to add 15 grams of plain flour and 200 grams of chopped chocolate (70% cocoa) and fold them into the mixture by hand until just combined.
- Next, you’re going to spray your tray with baking spray and then cover it with baking paper. After that, you’re going to pour the batter out onto the baking tray and make sure the whole tray is covered in the mixture.
- Put the tray into the preheated oven and let it bake for 40 mins.
- After 40 minutes check the brownies and take them out if the outside is solid but the inside is still a little jiggly. By jiggly I mean when the inside of brownie feels like jelly.
- As soon as you have removed it from the oven, let it cool down after cooled down for a couple of hours it the brownie should feel dense, chewy and gooey that means it’s good.
- Once cooled down you must extract it from the tin and cut it into 9x9 or 3x3. After this has been finished if you would like, you can polish it off with a shower of icing sugar.

Room 2's Memorable Moments
In writing, we have been recounting some of our most memorable moments: joyful, hilarious, tear-jerking or just plain hair-raising. Check it out!
As we were waiting for others to join, the instructor was explaining what to do while you are in the air. My mum and I were getting suited up. Finally, people came to accompany us. I was beyond the moon excited to go parasailing. When we were in the boat, all the people were getting wet because we were zooming to the middle. So we got to the place and my and I got to the area and were getting attached to the parachute. We were in the air enjoying the nice, cold wind when we heard a TING!! My heart was pounding cause I thought were going to fall in that was what most of my brain was telling me and the other bit was telling me that it was nothing but I was VERY, VERY WRONG……….
Ahhhhhhhhhhh!! Dupuy! We fell in the water. The water was very frigid, almost like ice but in the antarctic. My mum and I were screaming so loud my mum was saying” everything will be okay”, but the thing was that I had a helmet on, but my mum didn’t tighten it enough so it was over my head. And I couldn’t see anything only I could only hear my mum screaming!
Basically what happened is the parachute was still attached to us so the wind gathered up in my parachute and it got too much and so we got launched across the lake and the boat was trying to catch us. This mishap happened twice until the boat finally caught us. well, step 1 was finished but step 2 getting on the boat. Well the boat was coming and they finally came the skipper put a ladder over the boat so we could climb up but then the guy who attached us to the parachute jumped in behind me to make sure I was still afloat, and to keep me safe.
My parents struggled to get up the ladder but when she did I scurried up it as well now we were on the boat and we were shivering!!! The skipper said we would go back to dry land. so that’s what we did. As soon as we got off the boat I ran to my dad and hugged him tightly.
Turns out, somehow the rope attaching me and my mum together and also attaching us to the boat snapped so that’s why we fell. The next day, my dad said that he is going parasailing today with me and he said no matter what we are doing parasailing!!! So I said ok but they had closed it due to the wind. We went the next day and it was still closed for the same reason. The last day in Rotorua we went but the same thing again so they said that because that tragedy happened to me and my mum they could put us on the next jet boat trip for free but instead of just us two, me and my dad they said they can put my entire family on as well for FREE!!! We went on the jet boat and it was Awesome! That’s my memorable moment about parasailing!
Now that was my memorable moment. If you were in my situation what would you do? My heart was pounding like an elephant running when we fell. Overall this experience was scary and I would not like to do it again.
It was my first cricket prize giving I was feeling nervous and excited. Our team was second to last so we had to wait a while, there were lots of parents and family for different players, my mum and dad were there. The medals you could get at the prize giving were the best bowler medal, best batsman, most improved and the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER ( the one that everyone wanted).
The announcers had gone halfway through the teams, I could hear names being called out and clapping, the time was getting close they were only three teams away until my team’s winners were getting called out. Then there was only one team away…
Finally, the time came. First, the best batsman was getting called out, then the best bowler and finally the one all of us have been waiting for the MVP. My heart was pounding, I was sweating I just hoped that I would win this medal and then, they called out my name I felt so proud winning my first medal ever, everybody was clapping I felt a sigh of relief that I got the medal.
Its been a year and I still have it in my drawer in my study table. The medal is still gold and shiny like a pot of coins. Its a moment I cherish and will never forget.

Our parents had decided to go paddleboarding to an island full of sand dunes. Taresh, Laya (my friends) and I were excited. The three of us watched the waves lap over our toes, but when we heard that we were going paddle boarding we were ready to go in 5 minutes!!
We started the amazing trip to the sand dunes - sort of. My hat fell into the water so I had to swim and get it. I was freezing!! The paddleboard kept going in the wrong direction even though there was only a light breeze. We finally got there. Laya dropped down on the soft, smooth sand. Taresh had a drink. I ran into a sand hole and got a shower of sand all over me. We played tag in the sand while our parents chatted.

After we were exhausted playing games we looked towards the left - no adults, we looked towards the right - no adults. Anxiously, Laya, Taresh and I saw something that made our damp, wrinkled fingers shiver with cold as well as absolute panic. Then, to make it even worse - we heard the loud noise of a motorboat going - rrrrr rrrrr rrrrr!!! STRANGER DANGER!!! NOw that our parents weren’t there we had no idea what to do!! Taresh covered himself in the sand. Laya and I hid in a hole in the sand dunes. We knew it was a silly idea to hide so we all came out. WHOOSH!! The weird guy came up to us and said “ Your parents asked me to drop you off on the beach. We were al a bit hesitant at first - Taresh did a cartwheel just to show off, I giggled and Laya just stared.

Stranger Danger at the Sand Dunes

Our parents had decided to go paddleboarding to an island full of sand dunes. Taresh, Laya (my friends) and I were excited. The three of us watched the waves lap over our toes, but when we heard that we were going paddle boarding we were ready to go in 5 minutes!!
We started the amazing trip to the sand dunes - sort of. My hat fell into the water so I had to swim and get it. I was freezing!! The paddleboard kept going in the wrong direction even though there was only a light breeze. We finally got there. Laya dropped down on the soft, smooth sand. Taresh had a drink. I ran into a sand hole and got a shower of sand all over me. We played tag in the sand while our parents chatted.

After we were exhausted playing games we looked towards the left - no adults, we looked towards the right - no adults. Anxiously, Laya, Taresh and I saw something that made our damp, wrinkled fingers shiver with cold as well as absolute panic. Then, to make it even worse - we heard the loud noise of a motorboat going - rrrrr rrrrr rrrrr!!! STRANGER DANGER!!! NOw that our parents weren’t there we had no idea what to do!! Taresh covered himself in the sand. Laya and I hid in a hole in the sand dunes. We knew it was a silly idea to hide so we all came out. WHOOSH!! The weird guy came up to us and said “ Your parents asked me to drop you off on the beach. We were al a bit hesitant at first - Taresh did a cartwheel just to show off, I giggled and Laya just stared.
